Our Day Today!Happy November! We are going to have a great week. Today we learned about history, contractions, and adding with different strategies! We also have a new calendar up for the month! ReadingThis week’s focus question is “How has working together changed history?” We will be reading a very neat biography about Abraham Lincoln this week and learning new amazing words to add to our own vocabulary! ContractionsOur reading street phonics skill this week is contractions. We learned many different ways of saying what we want to say in a shorter way. We will be practicing this skill in our word work station by playing a memory game with a partner and practicing making our own contractions. MathToday in math we reviewed how to add two digit numbers with and without regrouping. We will move on to three digit numbers this week before we have our test. We made sure to practice all the strategies we have learned during our Number Talk today. We practiced using our strategies more by playing a fun Tic Tac Toe addition game with a partner! Library DayWe love our library time every week. Today we all really loved finding comfy places to sit and read our books in the library.
