WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!!!I am so happy to have happy, smiling children back in this classroom! For a while, we weren't sure if this would be possible, but here we are! We are all so thankful for bring all together, even if we are masked and keeping distance between each other!! Our First Week of SchoolWe had so much fun getting back into our school routine this week! We did so many fun activities and really learned a lot about our school, classroom, and each other! Our First Journal EntryEach morning when we come into the classroom, we make an entry into our journals. How Full Is Your Bucket? We started our day by discussing how to treat each other in the classroom. We read the book How Full Is Your Bucket? to learn how it makes people feel when they get treated poorly and how they feel when they are treated well! To represent the feelings that happen during the story, we used a sheet of paper to crinkle each time a drop was taken from the bucket and then smoothed it out each time a drop was put back into the bucket! First Mask / Snack Break! It was really fun to finally get a peek at these sweet faces hiding under the masks! Self PortraitsWe made beautiful self portraits of ourselves to use for homework to post to our Seesaw journal! What does a Second Grader need to be SUCCESSFUL?We read the book Brand-new Pencils, Brand-new Books and talked about what we all need In order to be successful second graders this year! They all came up with such great ideas! After we made a whole class circle map, we each chose 5 things that we thought were the most important and write them down on our backpack that we made! Birthday GraphingWe created a graph about all of our birthdays and then discussed and compared the different months! Classroom Agreement Writing |
