What we have been up too!We have had a great couple of weeks! We started learning all about maps and continents, explored some liquids, learned about mental math and rounding, and even got to plant some lettuce in the garden!! Me on the MapWe have been labelling maps and exploring the 7 different continents! We will be doing a research project together starting next week! We practiced visualizing ourselves in the world with a fun "Me on the Map" flip book! Rounding! We have been working really hard to learn how to add and subtract mentally. We learned that rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and the nearest hundred can be really helpful when doing mental math! We made a Rounding Roller Coaster to help us know when to round up or down! Liquids in Different ContainersLiquids are so neat and so much fun to explore. We learned the properties of liquids last week, but this week we explored the way that gravity changes the way a liquid looks in different kinds of containers! It was a really fun challenge to solve the puzzle of liquids in a bottle! Coming to AmericaWe have a Cultural Heritage Project coming up soon! We will be exploring the family members that we may have that immigrated to the United States from another country. We read the story "Coming to America" to learn about the kinds of journeys that people may have experienced on their trip to this country. Backyard GrowersSPRING IS HERE! It was such a fun time to go to the garden last week and plant lettuce seeds! It was a beautiful day and we loved getting our hands all dirty with planting for our Salad Kits!
