Our Week this Week!We have had a really great week this week! We learned a lot and had so much fun doing it! Reading StreetWe read a really neat story about sport's traditions this week. We read a story called "Just Like Josh Gibson," and then listened to a story read by Kevin Costner called "Catching the Moon." We learned how to compare different texts and enjoyed reading about baseball! Writing: ExpositoryWe have begun learning about expository writing! We will use what we know from these lessons to do a research project in the month of May! ContinentsWe are going to be researching the Seven Continents soon! We have started learning all about the continents by readings about them, watching some fun song videos, and labelling them on a map! Physical Science: LiquidsWe had a really great time exploring different liquids this week! We described the liquids by using different properties to explain how they move and look. After we explored and learned the properties of liquids, we tested our vocabulary knowledge by playing a game of Go FIsh with liquid cards! Poem in My PocketToday was "Poem in my Pocket" day! We all loved writing or choosing a poem to carry around with us today. It was even more fun getting to read our poems to the other second grade classes!
